The Carnduff Ball Park was born out of a need for a larger playing facility in the early 1990s. Community-driven fundraising efforts began, and with overwhelming support, landscaping and grass seeding were completed in 1992. In 1993, materials were acquired to construct five new diamonds. By 1994, the 1st Carnduff Scout Troop planted over 7,000 tree seedlings, and the construction of two diamonds, dugouts, and a set of bleachers was completed—just in time to host the first Provincial Softball Championship at the newly developed facility. Before the year ended, fence posts for two additional diamonds were also put in place.
The momentum continued in 1995, with the completion of two more diamonds, the construction of a concession stand, and the installation of a septic tank and water/pump-out lines. These improvements helped the facility host both a Provincial Softball Championship and Provincial Baseball Championship. By 1996, the fifth diamond was completed, irrigation lines were installed, and the sale of bricks for the gate entrance was initiated.
Today, Carnduff Ball Park remains one of the finest facilities in the province. We’ve hosted numerous Provincial Softball and Baseball Championships, and even had the privilege of hosting the Western Canadian Softball Championships. Our diamonds feature shale infields and grass outfields, maintaining high standards for competitive play.
The park is operated by a dedicated group of volunteers who take great pride in maintaining and improving the facility. From May through June, the diamonds are alive with activity, hosting a full slate of minor league softball and baseball teams, as well as a Senior Men’s Baseball team competing in the Saskota Baseball League.
In 2025, Carnduff Ball Park will have the honor of hosting the Senior Ladies Softball Provincial B Championships from July 4th to 6th, featuring the Southeast Steelers, who proudly call Carnduff home.
