Recreation & Facilities

Are you looking for something in particular? Carnduff has many forms of recreation available & the excellent facilities are sure to please.

Carnduff is home to the Antler River Archers. This club was formed in 1984 & has an annual membership of approximately 60 persons making it the largest per capita club in Saskatchewan. The club is active all year 'round as we have an indoor facility located in the basement of Carnduff Community Theatre. We have 12 lanes & annually host FITA (18 meters) & FITA II (25 meters). Our outdoor FITA range is adjacent to the ball diamonds with virtually no limitations on distances &/or number of shooters. This is also true of our 3D range which is set up along the Souris River where we annually sponsor a 2 day, 40 target shoot during the second weekend in June.

Carnduff's baseball facilities are among the best in the province thanks to their total reconstruction in 1994. They are located approximately 1 km west of Carnduff near the new lots built in Carnduff. The new diamonds feature a concession, two softball diamonds (250 ft.), two hard-ball diamonds (250 ft.), and a full size hard-ball diamond (500 ft.). All of the diamonds are maintained and are watered by an underground sprinkler system.

Located on the West edge of Carnduff Carnduff Steelers - Hosts for the Western's in 2006

Carnduff is home to the Southeast Steelers
and the Carnduff Brewers.

  • The Carnduff Southeast Steelers are a Ladies Fast-Ball Team which originated approximately 12 years ago. The team began as a bantam team &, along with the players, has now advanced to a Ladies team. For the past few years we have been competing in the Senior Open Category winning 2 bronze & a gold at the Western Canadians. Our season usually starts as soon as the snow leaves the ground in April or May. We do a lot of practicing because we do not have a League to play in & we travel to various cities such as Saskatoon, Regina, Moose Jaw & Winnipeg to compete in tournaments.
  • Allan Hubbard has followed the team as a coach right from the start, and his son Darren has shared the coaching duties the past few years. Approximately one third of the team are local residents, some having a long-time relationship with the team, while still others are gained to strengthen the team. In 2002 & 2006 Carnduff took on the project to host the Western Canadian Mens & Ladies Championship. The community & all committee members did an outstanding job organizing & hosting these events. With approximately 1100 fans watching the final games, the Steelers were able to capture the Gold Medal in 2002! There is nothing better than to win that Gold in your Home Town!! This team welcomes new & competitive players & thrives to keep softball a sport in Carnduff.

The decision to install grass greens in 1982 created a spurt in the growth of the Carnduff Golf Club's membership that continues to this day. Each year, more and more people in Manitoba, North Dakota and Saskatchewan are discovering this delightful course located in the Southeastern corner of the province.

New Golf Course Sign A Hole in One?

  • Carnduff's 9 holes lie within the small Antler Creek Valley with the creek roughly splitting the course in two. The creek cuts across the 1st, 5th, and 8th fair-ways, and is in play on two others. The fair-ways are, for the most part, level and beautifully lined with many trees.
  • As one of Saskatchewan's longest 9 hole courses, it holds plenty of challenge for golfers - proven by the fact that par over 18 holes has only been broken a few times in the history of the course. The course's signature hole looks out from an elevated tee over the creek towards the north wall of the valley. From the 8th tee your drive will clear the creek about 100 yards out, on this short 320 yard par four. From the forward tee, this hole can be played as a very long 242 yard par three.
  • The Clubhouse was built in October 2000 & opened in May of 2001. It contains a pro-shop, outdoor patio,(barbecue facilities, lounge & banquet room with a seating capacity of 175 persons.
  • New Clubhouse Immaculate Greens

The Carnduff Ladies Golf Club meets weekly on Tuesday evenings from opening day in May until about mid September. The wind-up is also usually in September. Championship play-offs for team & club, determined by points won over the season, are held yearly. A handicap system is done to award the points weekly. There is also a "pic-a-prize" tournament held in June, as well as the "Antler Creek Tournament" in July where members are asked to invite non-members to golf with them. In 2003, we were proud to hold the 10th annual Antler Creek Tournament - a time of great fun where exciting prizes are up for grabs. Members of the club are asked to take turns on the Executive Committee. To date, we have approximately 65 members that comprise 12 teams. There are a maximum of 6 players to each team. Any ladies interested in golfing, make sure to give us a call.

Carnduff Senior Golf Club meets every Thursday from May through September. Tee-off is about 4pm. We have approximately 25-30 Seniors, 55 years & older, who usually play a 4-person scramble. The members are divided into hosting teams for the season & each week a different host team plans the games & supplies the food for the evening meal. Our annual tournament is held in August with golfers from other clubs entering into the event.

Our Junior Golf Program runs from about mid May through to mid August and the Instructor is Ron Spencer. Times are Mondays & Thursdays from 4pm until 5:30 P.M. until the end of June. During July & August, the times are Mondays & Thursdays from 9 am until 11:30 am. We had over 50 participants under the age of 14 in 2003.         ALL KIDS ARE WELCOME
