This relatively new facility began operating in September 2004. Carnduff Education Complex represents the results of the cooperative efforts of the government, school division, local community, and surrounding rural municipalities. Because of the local support and involvement, the gymnasium was expanded and the Regional Library was integrated with the school Resource Center. CEC is a facility that should continue to meet the changing needs of our students and community members for years to come. Finishing touches to CEC continued after the arrival of our students. The walkway to the main entrance was an important part of our local fund-raising efforts. The names of donors are engraved on the individual bricks leading to the main doors. A significant and greatly appreciated addition to our school is the new creative play structure, purchased through the Fundraising Committee.
As you enter our school, you will pass the Administration Offices, Staff Room, and an open area leading to the two wings. In this central, core area, you will find our expanded gymnasium with floor space to accommodate two full volleyball courts, as well as the washrooms and change rooms for our students and athletes. The Southeast Regional Library and Counseling Rooms are also located in this area.
The high school wing includes rooms for regular classroom instruction as well as specialized areas. The Practical and Applied Arts room is wide open and combines with our servery to provide food services as well as instruction in food preparation and various arts. The wing also includes two science labs, a computer lab, and smaller tutorial or conference rooms.
The elementary wing includes regular classrooms as well as specialized rooms for Kindergarten and Special Education / Resource Room. The wing has its own washroom facilities and features labs for computers and arts education as well as smaller tutorial / conference rooms.
Groundwork and play areas will continue to be developed over time. The entire community of Carnduff takes great pride in its newest facility. It demonstrates a real commitment to education and our youth.
The Dean Fraser Community Centre is located at the 300 Block of 4th Street East. The Community Centre opened in the spring of 2008 housing, at the time, the Carnduff Day-care and Recreation Director. This facility is currently home to the day-care, Recreation Director, Zargon Oil and GAs, Carnduff Gymnastics Club, and the Borderline Boxing Club. The facility has additional office space available for lease or available for daily rent. Programs currently offered at the centre are a fitness kick-boxing class and indoor walking. Stay tuned for more programs coming soon. Rent for classroom space is $10/hour to a maximum of $50/day. For information on leasing, please contact the Town at 482-3503 or 482-3300
The Associated Gospel Church was built in 1907 as a Baptist Church. It closed in the late 1950's due to lack of use. In 1964 the Congregation of the Glen Ewen Gospel Tabernacle bought the building & relocated in Carnduff. In 1979 the addition, consisting of a gym, Sunday School classrooms, Pastor's study, & a kitchen, was built.
Average attendance for Sunday Worship Services is about 60. There are weekly Sunday evening services held at the Sunset Haven. The present Pastor is Paul Martens, along with his wife Karen and their 4 children. There are Sunday School classes for children of all ages, & there are regular week-day activities for children & teens. Mid-week there is bible study & prayer meetings, as well as a Ladies bible study. Women's Missionary Fellowship meets once a month.
The Associated Gospel Church continues to uphold the Bible as the final authority in all matters of faith & conduct for Christians.
